Aero Club Of Pisa

It is situated about 6 miles far from Pontedera, between the villages of Capannoli and Forcoli, along the Fila road towards Peccioli and Volterra.

It has a grass surface runway about 2260ft long, with some hangars for aircraft shelter.

It lays the middle of the "Valdera" valley, in a plain surrounded by the wonderful tuscanian hills and some very interesting touristic sites.

Within short reach, it is possible to visit the Libbiano astronimic observatory, the Capannoli geological museum, the Laiatico mofette, the Peccioli prehistorical park, the San gervasio museum of rural craft and civilization and the Montefoscoli exposition of country civilization.

Half mile away, the Peccioli swimming pool and possible accomodation in hotels or farms.

The airfield is the training seat of the best skydiving national teams: the Army and the Carabinieri Sport Centers, both at the top of the International ranks. Foreign countries national teams are sometimes hosted too.

Powered Ultralight Flying School

Certified with n. 33 from the National Aero Club, operates on the Valdera airfield. There are eight instructors for multi-axis and motorglider airplanes (see description below), for trikes girocopter and for paramotor. It is possible to enroll all the year round from the age of 16 (parent approval needed for minors). The courses comprise theorical lessons (once a week, all the year round) and practical flight lessons (every day except tuesdays).

Tecnam P92 Echo - P92 Super

Advanced three-axis ultralight, an excellent trainer, suitable for flight activity as well. A classic of sport aviation.

Gyrocopter Ela

Conventional three-axis controls, rotary wing, very verstile and controllable. It is good on non prepared surfaces and on short fields.

Pipistrel Sinus

Sport motor-glider with surprising gifts, putting together top perfomance and safeness and a very high efficiency in gliding flight.

Pipistrel Spider

A very good trike, amusing, simple and safe; a perfect trainer.

Free Flight School

Certified n. 51 from the National Aero Club, operates at San Giuliano Terme. The school has a paragliding and hang-gliding instructor and follows the same organization of the powered flight school.
